Microsoft sidewinder

I have today recieved a microsoft sidewinder for my birthday present. But then I found out that it didnt work work on windows xp which has just destroyed my birthday. If anybody can help me I would be very greatful.

Did it come with it's own devise drivers?
could b just a compatibility issue.

try going to devise manager and check if you see any compatibility's.
to get there click start/control panel/performance & maint./administrative tools/computer management:
in the left window double click devise manager

then scroll down to game controller, and check there.
if there is a compatibility...you will see a yellow ! quotation mark.

you could aslo trying it in a different usb port

Why not just take it back to the shop and get a Windows XP compatible one?
