Yeah - use Kazaa Lite and make sure you don't download too much porn.

I notice you've got 320Gig of HDD storage. What do you store on that?

LOL! Maybe... nah. It is true though - porn has the most viruses on it. Stop all downloads the moment you notice if they have embedded links in them; if they bring up a Internet Window when you start them.

Update.

Well I shoved the drive into my moms laptop and found that somehow the filesystem was totally wiped out. It no longer recongnizes as an ntfs drive. So I will create a new partion on it and then see If I can install windows on it after that.

A few more question, is there a virus that can totally corrupt you file system in a matter of thirty seconds? I know here in the US a stupid senator from my state wants to put mp3's out there that will destroy your hard drive if you download it.

Also i broke one of the pins off of it just a few minutes ago but it still works okay. What happens when you break a pin off, will it slow down?

I also lost a weeks worth of work so now I have to play catch up. I am going to get another drive that is exactly the same for backup purposes. I should have backed up my website on my other drive. Its just that I havent encounter a serious hard drive problem like this before. But I have learned my lesson. Dang hackers. I hate you. Die.

Well I am having a hard time getting this to format Ill try again tommorow. This is probably a fatal problem for my hard drive.

Right now I am going to find the bastard who did this to my computer. There is going to be hell to pay.

Yes a virus could destroy the file system in a second. But if your having trouble re-formatting it, it's more likely to be that your hard drive just failed.

Well what happens when you break a pin off I have never done that but in all the melee of switching it around everywhere i accidently bend one and it broke.

I dont think it just died becuase of the curcumstances which were right before it died. With the error I recieved from a place that is known to have a virus.

Even though i did break a pin off it still was having trouble formatting before i did that.

I think I just might throw this one at the wall even though its only a few months old and go and get a few cheap ones.

It all depends on which pin but, Your drive needs to find the trash.

Why not get two drives and Raid 0 them, There's not much difference in price, buying say 2x80Gb drives as aposed to 1x160Gb drive. And you'll double the speed.
