400mhz FSB - should be 800mhz

P4s run at 400mhz (old ons) 533 (between 2.4-2.8) and 2.8+ run at 800mhz FSB . FSB dont change between HT and EE.

400MHZ will be your memory. PC3200 (400MHZ).

Well as camers stated, when you boot up it shows you the frequency of your memory not your bus. So since he has pc 3200 that is perfectly correct.

If he really wants to know if his computer is running at a 400 mhz bus than just look at whay windows tells him his processor is. Because if his bus was that slow his p4 would show up much slower in windows and in bios.

If your processor is an 800fsb model then your Fsb should be 200Mhz, this is quad pumped to 800fsb.

And it's not only EE's that have the 800fsb.

The other thing to check is that your memory is running at a ratio of 1:1 for the highest speed. (as long as it's at least PC3200). That's 400Mhz x 2 to give you 800Mhz. Confusing isn't it.
