What do you mean by "remote host"? do you mean like connect to the website with PuTTy or something along those lines??

~ROSEBLOOD

well, connect to another computer without the same restrictions. then surf the web from there.

they cant monitor/block that :)

(heh...unless they broke the discrete log problem or aes, which they most definitely havent! (yeah, i know, theres a very easy attack in this circumstance...though if you bring your own known_hosts files youll avoid that :)).

hmmmm....never thought about bringing my own host file....does that really work?

I doubt very much that he'll be able to achieve this doing that.
It seems this STbenard program is a filtering proxy server. therefore all connections to port 80 are probably blocked unless they come from this proxy, the staff probably have a logon name on the proxy, or use special machines that have rule exceptions on a firewall.
I also imagine that the SSH ports are blobked as well, (since pretty much all ports would be blocked 'out-of-the-box'.

that leaves the option of a remote proxy service. I don't have the address for any but, basically you request pages through this proxy and your school will think all pages come from this particular site, allowing you to do what you want.

go into internet options change the proxy to some porn site or somin and change the port thts wot i do works for me

others think getting rid of WWW work well no it dont

Well my NA's have us sooo locked down we cant even right click on ANYTHING, so no internet options, no File in an explorer window, no desktop, and they have hiddent the C Drive from My Computer, oh and they have locked out Regedit, but they are dumb and let us make Batch files so i jsut use this to get to cmd.exe....
Code:
command

and that gets open a command prompt. but thanks for the help guys. And pretty much all ports are block all but 80 and i think some of the anti-virus/firewall stuff. the anti-virus is somehow link into the network so they dont have to run around to each machine and update them.

they'll be updating the servers that same way we do here.
There is a signature server at the distributors end.
our signature server gets updates from that.
all the clients on the local network look to our signature server for updates.
saves on internet traffic and open ports.
