one day WMP stopped working so i delted it and reinstalled it.

From dat day on, when i try to open WMP it doesn't open and i get a popup dat says internal application error.

and it never works.

it's quite frustrating. any help would be appreciated. i'm trying to avoid reinstalling windows, cuz i don' believe in that, but if i have to do it, i will.

thanks

Yes use Winamp or other players and don't delete,
uninstall, but you cant uninstall Media Player and damage your system.Just forget it exists.like Hotmail etc.
Why did you see this as a perfect sollution ?

So what version were you using? since you already deleted it, i would use a program called CC cleaner.

i would do a google seach for it, It is a great little program that looks for any incomplete uninstalls of programs that were unistalled wrong.

or programs that didn't come with there own uninstall program.

I have used this program myself and it works pretty good. and (that is after that's done) i would do a search and find the latest version of media player.

I am still using version 9, and it works great 4 me.
But i think i heard some where there is a version 10 out.

if its jsut for music...winamps at least as good as wmp.
(heh...wmp cant even play ogg vorbis files :x)

if its for video..then there are some pretty good video players around, like mplayer, or xine, or videolan.

id choose mplayer over wmp anyday :)
(heh, and have)
though im unsure as to wheither theres a win32 port of it

Oh no, it can't play Ogg Vorbis Files! What a dreadful shame! I think we need to boycott it now! :D Lol, nah, I'm sure Mr. Vorbis is a nice person.

Personally, I use Musicmatch for Music File Player (although naturally it cannot play Ogg Vorbis Files, just incase you have any or care), and Windows Media Player for Videos.

I'm not entirely sure how you uninstalled it; many people say they have in but really it is very hard to do. Either way, its not going to help the system. Which verison have you reinstalled? Sickness has a very good point; Winodws Media Player 10 Beta works brilliantly and should sort out the problems you have with it. I have been using it for weeks now and I have had no problems with it.

WMP hmm

We never really knew for sure that it means "Windows Media Player"
Do we ?
Maybe it meant Watch Me Poppa.
So he deleted his Dad.
;)

funni....

but i jus wanted to know why this malfunction is occurring.

The sickness. i've downloaded da beta version.
same problem.

there has to be a reason for this stupid problem to be occuring. and it gets frustrating sometimes, because when i want to watch certain videos on websites (no, it's not porn, sorry but i'm 22, don' do dat shit) i click on the link and it automatically opens with windows media player. The error occurs and i never get to see anything i want.

is dere some way that i can make the file appear with winamp or watever?

i try to save file, but when i save it it doesn't save the file, jus the website.

thanks for ur help.

any more suggestions?
