Data Copying from HD 1 to HD 2

Hi,

I recently tried replacing my 20gig hard drive (system files + programs) with my 40gig hard drive (music + videos) but there was a little problem.

I used the DOS method (walkthrough) located here - http://www.windows-help.net/features/copy-hd.html

All files were copied over but it wouldnt boot up windows. my 40gig HD (the one i want to use) is a Maxtor 6E040L0 (Rotational Speed 7200 RPM, Interface Ultra-ATA/133, Buffer Size 2 MB) and the 20gig HD (the one im currently using) is a ST320413A (Seagate) (Rotational Speed 5400 RPM, Interface Ultra-ATA/100, Buffer Size 512 KB)

I want to change because im running out of space on the 20gig and it has better buffer + RPM (not sure what difference these will make but its a bonus )

Also... When i go into disk management (rightclick my computer and select manage) it says my 20gig is a LAYOUT=PARTITION and TYPE=BASIC, where my 40gig is LAYOUT=SIMPLE, TYPE=DYNAMIC.

Are there any programs/methods i can use to transfer everything from the 20gig to the 40gig successfully?

Nevermind i managed to do it! lol

Used a program from www.maxtor.com called maxblast 3, worked amazingly well.
