5200 are cheap & nasty

Youve got a decent spec machine, go for a 5900XT or 9800pro or higher.

I prefer Nvidia, no problems, lock ups etc.

On our Lan party's only the guys with ATI's have problems.

lol but i dun have da money to bbuy. . + more lock ups are common in WINDOWS 98, ME ( those non-NT windows ) but win 2000 or xp doesnt have it at all .. i could have my computer stay up time for 10hrs without restarting if using windows xp. But ME, its a no no, mins only then jamp lock up .

Well see what you can get for your 5200 and look for a cheap card.

I just put a gforce3 ti200 in my machine to test it and i got nearly 9000 on 3dmark2001se. Still a fast card, faster that what youve got and i'm sure you could pick one up at a reasonable price.

it suprised me, i've just put it in this morning. it's times like this when i look at my £300+ invoice for my latest card and shake my head.

Your graphics card is really hindering your systems capabilities, i say upgrade! Even I get almost 8000 and its only my graphics card that is slightly better than yours (i think lol)

back to the graphic cards i would no doubt prefer the radeon over the geforce

i have a radeon 9550 and my friend had a 6800 and i stand my ground with the radeon even though these two cards arent really comparable i prefer radeon over geforce
