You can't really compare any 5200 and the 9700 - because they're different price range cards. Of course the 9700 Radeon is going to be better - its more expensive.

alrite guys, I read a magazine name "HWM" - Hardware MAG, n i see that radeon still sux. The benchmark results for GEFORCE 6800 !!! is better than radeon for 3dmark01/03(forgotten)(in school) even the resoultion 1024x768x32 is better than 800x600x32 ..

you are just comparing it to a card that is not within it's price range.

the 6800 is 350 USD

the 9700 is 180 USD

nearly double the price. It's obvious that your gonna get better performance on 6800.

If you just want the best freaking video card for gaming u can go get the 6800 ultra or GT.

but I don't think that's necessary.

A 9700 will do you nicely.

That is a point, if you want the ATi version of the 6800 then have a look at the X800. I don't know the stats; but I know its close whichever is technically best.

Yes, the 9700 is better than the 5200 and yes, the 6800 is going to kick the shit out of the 9700.

Get consistent with your prices.

O well, i need gaming mostly so I will need maybe 6800 well i noe 9700 does not suck, but 6800's performace has a GREAT different from 9700.Too bad I am not supposed to buy the card myself .. I m only 13 years old .. need parent consent 1st.

The 6800 is able to power 8.2 Million Pixels (that being the pixelage of two dual DCI Apple 30" TFT Monitors) so its more powerful, not neccersarily faster, than any ATi competitor. The 9700 does not suck; didn't see anybody say that; I at least didn't; I said it was of a lesser power than the 5900 and certainly the 6800.
