power supply not enough causing sound jitters and performace jitters

i got a 400 watt power supply in my computer i run

ATI 9800 pro Graphics card
80 gig HD
GIGABYTE mobo
512 duel ram
2.4 amd athlon

i got 3 colour fans 1 on the side 2 at the back

and here is the bit i got a cathode that lights blue green n red installed it and now my sound jitters and my games also but mainly sound? could this be a PSU not powerfull enough or somehting else i dont think its a sofware problem im all up todate?

It might struggle a little. Go for a 450 or more.
 
My Sound Ust to do it on vice city purely cause the amount of sound is it that there is a lot of sound at once if so i think you need a separtate(spelling) card . If you all ready have a separtate car then i would say power.

What sound card is it? Some old cards can't handle the bit rate of todays.

I would say listen to David. With all those fans, and the cathode, along with everything else, the PSU is probably getting drawn on alot.

Like David said, get a 450 watt or more to be sure :)

I think its a software problem.400 is great as i have 300 and not your problem.
What sound card do you have ?

Upgrade,now is the time.Get a Sound Blaster pci.
But you must know how to disable and uninstall internal first.

SB live value etc is only about 10 - 15 bucks US.
This will end your problem quick.
God i'll send you a Money order if its that bad,but what you spent already doesn't indicate that $ 20 is a problem,is it ?
