It should help what you've explained so far kiddo,
"saveing to a gif" this isn't hard.Load a file,do your thing to it and choose "save as".Then scroll to gif on the list of choices.
Warning be sure to give it name besides *.gif.

Yo dawg, check yourself, you just sent me a Gif image, I can't open it using Paint!!! if it was that simple I could just download a Gif image from Google!!

When I try to load a Gif image, I get an error message saying that the file format is not supported then and ilegal opperation error pops up!!
