Hi there

Only a quick topic asking if there is a way of bypassing it? Its like a huge moderatoring network put on schools etc. and blocks certain websites. I did bypass it a few times by puting something extra before i typed the website but now that doesn't work. Anyone help? Its on a school network but i think now i'm in Year 12, you may not be so restricted.

Cheers :)

PS: Don't do any Hotmail scams that involve sending your OWN password!!! :D

I don't know; but I'm saying to you what I say to every person who comes on here in search of Porn or Games at school - do some work and then you can retire earlier and have lots of time for whatever wierd internet based things you enjoy. It'll probably be better by then anyway.

Porn and games? Correction, things like Hotmail can't be accessed and computer games websites, as well as forums i like to keep on top of. I'm not one of those sad children begging to look at porn and play shockwave at school :)

But Hotmail? Can you not seriously wait until you get home to send e-mails?

Computer Games Websites? They're not going to change before you get home - so you're not going to miss something.

We all like to keep onto of Forums. But School when we should be learning is not the correct time for this.

Thats a very objective attitude you have there..and i would like the freedom to go on whatever website i like and not see a white page with a huge red cross on it saying the webpage is restricted. Yes, hotmail, computer websites are just a few i can name but i would like to have the choice.
And it depends on what you're doing at school. I'm about to start my A-Levels and we'll be getting free periods to use the computers or go to the shops or whatever.

Don't they cancel the Websense for anything but Porn during Free Periods in places like the Library or Computer Labs without Classes in?

I am talking about a huge school network governed by Websense. I think now that i'm in Year 12, we get a few less things restricted but even then, not that much i fear. And i go to a school thats Year 8 up to Year 13 so you can't really cancel things or take off Websense just because a few Year 12's are having a break.

But back to the main point, i did manage to type something extra before the webpage, random coding which did work but now its been blocked..any ideas? I thought maybe a disk of some sort with a program, may work depending on the virus scanner my school has. We do have free e-mail that can take up to 5mb, that could be an option.

You can in certain areas of the school, it has happened even on the crappy SuperScout we have in our school.

I can't think of what you could put at the beginning; have you tried accessing the internet from different program? Like Frontpage?

What i put before was about 20-30 characters long and i don't know what it was, may have been a secure link or something as it definatly wasn't a webpage of any sort.
I haven't tried that yet but come to think about it, don't think they have Frontpage.
Hmm..well Websense isn't crappy and the entire school it hooked up, with passwords and usernames, like mine is 17422 and my password is...lol.
