Here's my problem

I found a computer laying around on my street. I reformatted the hard drive and installed ms-dos 6.22. Now i put a win 98 cd in, just the only problem ms-dos won't pic up the cdrom, so i found the device driver for it and typed it into the command prompt,and still wouldn't pick it up
ive been told i could put some type of commands into the autoexec file of config.sys file to automatically load the driver when i restart the comp

can anyone lead me on the right track

thanks
dan

I doubt that dos will like booting windows 98 from the cd drive, especially on a possibly dud pc?

go to... http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm and download the appropriate windows 98 one...

your computer should run the windows 98 install and ask for the disk there, you may need to do A:\setup.exe or setup.bat whatever it is.

let me know

J

**EDIT**

You sure running win 98 is a good idea on that computer? what are the specs.
