mouse wont work

ever since my computer broke down and i got it fixed and installed win2000 my mouse doesnt work when i start up my computer i hvae to keep starting it back up untill it works and i have tried diffrent mouses and it still does the same thing is there anythign i can do

try a usb mouse
some bios have mouse support-disable it if so.
your pin connector could be dirty-spray a little wd-40 or electrical cleaner into a mouse plug. Work it in and out of the plug a couple of times. Not to wet! Make certain the devise manager lists a mouse

Go to Settings/Control Panel/Mouse. and see whats going on,if you can ?
Also see what sysdm has too say ?
Too bad i can't include attachments.Only email invitations.
