In Windows XP it is super easy.
-Click and hold the icon.
-Drag it to the start menu - keep in clicked and the start menu will appear in a couple of seconds.
-Then go to the place where you want the icon to appear and unclick.
That's it.
You can do the same thing with the quick task menu as well.
P.S. Microsoft has at least three ways of doing every task. Have fun exploring the other ways.
