Hi,

This is my first time here and i applogize if this question has been answered before.

Anyways i am currently in the market for a DVD burner. Basically i need it to back up my DVD collection since i already have lost a number of discs. What i need is a burner that is:

- Inexpensive
- Will burn R+-
- Have some sort of warranty
- Work well with windows XP
- Preferably external

Also i need to know what kind of software i would need to rip them to my computer. Free is always nice and even nicer if it comes with the burner.

I have already been referred to a few models from a friend of mine, could you please shed some light on these models and if this is a good price for the model:

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProdu...-100-032&depa=1

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProdu...-100-045&depa=1

Thanks for any information,
