Whats the difference between visiontek and ATI

What the heck is the difference between the Visiontek x800 card and the ATI x800 card. Thanks in advance.

It looks like visiontek works with ATI (they're both ATI cards). I'm guessing its just a distribution thing, but you may want to wait for another opinion too.

ATI makes the Video chip and designed the chips.

ATI does also make the card for some of its products, but it works with other manufacturers to lower costs and keep the manufacturing out of the cost of the board. That leaves ATi to develop better and faster chips, instead of focusing on manufacturing.

VisionTek is one of two companies that ATI works most closely. The other Sapphire.
