I have a question that noone seems to know the answer to so maybe you guys/gals can help. Im thinking about buying a notebook from dell, but its mosty for school but its also going to be used to run this program called S e r a t o Scratch live. Now this program needs a really good processor, how does the the pentium M 1.4GHz (or i could get the 1.8) compare to a Pentium 4 2.8 GHz processor?? Are they the same, ones a lot better, or they are about the same??? if anyone could help it would be much appreciated. heres the website with some more info that might help. (im looking at the 600m or the 300m but i wont get them if the program i want wont run smooth like silk) http://www1.us.dell.com/content/products/compare.aspx/inspn?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd
and the site to the program is here
http://www.rane.com/scratch.html

P4 M is lighter probably, smaller, but far more expensive and will give no more power or reliablity. It is just more 'Mobile' Get the P4.

but i think you guys have mistaken the p4m to the M there is actually a pentium processor thats just M not p4m but M, what do you guys think of that one

im not sure thats why i asked which one is better because i never heard of the M one they have on there site u can check it out at www.dell.com its on the dell 600m and the new dell 300m, if anyone can help thanks alot

Its the centrenio processor. No unless you doing a lot of network and internet releated then buy the pentuim 4.

Yeah, Centrinos are about 1Ghz behind if not more. They're only good if you are litterally a Laptop Freak and you want that sort of thing where its light and small and makes less heat and sound.
