Gold on Hardware

Lol - I doubt the 6800 is Copper! :D

Gold would be so terribly hard to get off the cards - but if you wanted to you would probably at a guess have to put the card in very strong acid to burn off what isn't gold. Even then it would be pretty crap gold. I don't know how old you are but maybe try your Chemestry Teacher or a Chemist.

I learn chemistry in school, argh haha gold is very unreactive and thus it is probably very pure :D

That is what I said - use Acid - but what you get will not neccersarily be very pure because there are things which are used in Computers which are as if not more unreactive than Gold.

Final comment

If gold was used in components, you would probably have a choice of,
Basic or Gold version, probably 2 or 3 times the basic price.
Have you seen this advertised ?
Of course not,it's gold colored or yellow.
:D

omg! omg! bluto still doesnt know what we're talking about haha :D

we're actually discussing about REAL gold used in the hardware like graphic cards, sound cards, motherboards and such... not what you are mentioning - -"

by the way, there is gold on them... REAL gold. as in pure gold :D

My 9.6m Broadband Extension is Gold Plated - otherwise I would have to have my computer down in the Hallway! I had to do it for 4 months - never again!
