hi everyone,
i've recently felt like playing Far Cry,
so i downloaded the demo, again, and tried playing

so here's where my Graphic card kicks in

i've chekced the websites for the game's system specs
it was as below:

- Computer: 2 GHz CPU
- Memory: 512 MB RAM
- DirectX 9.0b must be installed
- Nvidia based cards must have : ForceWare drivers 53.03
- Geforce 2 or 3 or higher

My system specs :
- 2.4 GHZ CPU
- Memory 512 MB RAM
- DirectX 9.0b installed
- installed Nvidia's Forceware driver 56.03 or smth, ( i rmb it was 56.xx)
- GeForce FX 5900-XT

so i overcome the recommnaded system specs
i tried my demo

I CANT SET MY GRAPHIC SETTINGS TO HIGH
i tried 800*600*32, and the advanced settings to MEDIUM

graphic lags..

i tried 800*600*32, and the advanced settings to low

now i was able to play,

but shouldn't I be able to play at abt 800*600*32 with high graphic settings?

i asked my friend about this problem,
he said i should be able to play the game at at least 800x600x32 at high graphic settings

he advised me to update my graphic drivers, but as you all know i have the most recent driver.

I don't know what the problem is - i'm just suspecting my graphics drivers. All i know is my computer isnt reaching the expected performance,

A little help would be nice =p
thx for the reading,

You should be able to play at 1024 x 768 or better, but try 16 bit.
Heres a better idea,Contact Far Cry and ask them, and say you'd like to buy it "but".
I don't like NVidea, many have problems like this.
What are the ATI requirements ?
Just a silly thought,
Do you have a lot of "protection"on like Nortons and Firewalls ?
Or a screensaver set to 1 min.
:p
Good luck and please reply, many don't,nothing learned.

Yeah you should be able to play at 1024x768 at 32bit with settings at high i can unless there is a big proformace diffrence between the xt and just 5900 then i would say do what bluto says.

just tried,
still lags as hell

1024*768, cant even try
when i shoot, the gun responds abt 0.5 seconds after

800*600*32, at high settings, still lags

dunno what's wrong.. =(

What monitor you got, as i know my my TFT monitor, i cant play games in a higher resolution that 1024x768.

If its an older monitor, then that could be your problem, it might not support that resolution

Just a though :)

Did i not suggest "does your video card recognize your monitor,if not set it to generic (svga) thats easy.
screen size limit, refresh rate, you need the monitor booklet now.
What does Directx say,is everything enabled ?
dxdiag.exe.

how do u know if my grahic card's recognizing my monitor?
and the DirectX, i run the dxdiag.exe? so that i can check what's enabled?
sorry =p i'm still a noob abt hardwares and stuff,

I use Samsung's TFT 15 inch, 1024 * 768 (this is the size limit), 60 hertz refresh rate,
