Longhorn

Yeah, it looks bloody good!

It will certainly help me in my seach for a proper 64-bit Windows (I haven't changed my sig yet but the 64-bit Windows not only only had Classical view but would not even work with my Broadband Software! It said the Windows isn't supported; which makes sense when you think about it) so I'm back on Pro.

And, in two years I will have the money for a new Computer to start my University off and I will hopefully buy it just as Longhorn comes out! Whichmakes sense when you think about it. Even my Computer now won't handle the final Longhorn even if things do slow down; I only brought a 64-bit to keep up with new programs and I never expected it to work with Longhorn!

I have not yet seen any Longhorn Server stuff (there obviously will be one!) I was wondering if you knew anything about it David?

So they won't make one for 32bit procs?
I haven't heared anything about Longhorn server. I think they will stick with server 2K3. That seems to do very well for itself!

Nope; Longhorn will only work on 64-bit Computers - thats another reason I brought mine; because then maybe I can get my hands on a Longhorn Beta before its out - maybe have a bit of fun on it!

Well, yeah, it is holding itself up more than even I thought it would! But it will be 2006 before Longhorn is out - I think they probably will be letting out a new Server System - they can't not really! There may be 128-bit Computers by 2006!

Hell, by 2010 they may have quantum processessing worked out and a even weirder named windows. Of course when you get an error message windows will indavertantly create a black hole and suck you and your computer off into the unknown. :p

Lol! I doubt that!

But at 2010 you're right about the strange names! Windows' next incarnation after Longhorn is already called Blackcomb!

I also doubt Quantum Processesing; at least in the next 6 years! but 256-Bit Processing I think is reasonably possible. Of course - when World War III hits we will all go into war; until somebody creates Warp Drives etc etc and so on! As is said in the scriptures of Star Trek! :D :D :D

about the World War III idea, it will prolly be the US, Australia, Britain and a lot of the UN against some little ratbag countries fulla terrorists

kilobit processing (1024-bit), terabyte hard drives, and possibly the introduction of a '2' in binary

longhorn

I think microsoft should stop focusing too much on the form and start working on the function , stability and vulnerability of windows. Hope they do better with longhorn that they did with win xp which was kinda disappointing. Although i m a linux fan, i still use windows 4 my gaming purposes.

It wouldn't be a World War then would it? It would have to be a big group of Powerful countries against another big group of countries.

Yeah! We already get a third of a Terabyte Hard Drives now! Single Bastards too. So it won't be long for that. Not entirely sure about Kilobit Processing - its a dreadful amount of numbers!

We can all realise that is perhaps too many digits of Binary for the next 10 Years! If you look carefully you will realise that is what is called a Googleplex! Or a Centillion.

Paying Lip Service to Windows?! Nooooooo!!!!!!

Form makes windows - but the function is being done big time on Longhorn! I wasn't 'with' Computers much when XP was on the table so I wouldn't know much about how it appeared at the time - but Longhorn has more new features that involve function than the new Mac OS X Panther which Mac love going on about has across the whole board new and old.
