Hi

I have XP Home
It was after installing new CD Playing software that the problem started
When I boot up it opens with what appears to be the Safe Mode entry screen,
When I navigate using the arrows and press enter on any of the options
a windows logo appears and the returs to the same screen displaying the message " Sorry for the inconvenience windows has not been able to start, this may be due to a software or hardware problem"

Can anybody help
Thanks

Boot Problem

Hi David,

Thanks for replying
I do have a CD that came with the computer, when I insert it, it says
"To boot from CD press any Key"
When I do it looks like it's going to reinstall and asks me to accept licence

Should I continue, will it install over whatevers still there

Thanks
Norman

Yes I think you may have to install. Do not format the disk, just re-install windows and you will keep everything.
