Hard drive for PC and MAC

Hi guys,

I bought a Maxtor 250 GB External Hard Drive with two firewire ports. I want to be able to have 100 GB for my MAC and 150 for my PC. I have no idea how to do this. I tried to creat a partition of the 150 GB on my PC, but then when i plugged the Hard Drive into my MAC, it read the Hard Drive as the full 250 GB, so then i tried to partition the 100 GB on the mac, but it erased my PC partition. Then i tried to plug the Hard drive with the mac partition on it into my PC, but it didn't read the Hard Drive at all. I want to know if there is a way to have the 150GB on my PC and have the 100GB for my MAC!? I don't care if i have both partitions running at once, but i just want to store files from the PC and the MAC on the Hard drive.

Is there a way to do this!?

You will have to creat the partition in MAC for it to be MAC format and the same for the PC. Hope this help.

Maybe if you create both Partitions on the PC; and run a Formatting on the 150Gb Partition from the Mac?
