Transferring a Win98 drive to Xp

This should be a quick and easy question.

I had a Win98 computer but it won't start up. All I want to do is get some information off of the hard drive that was on the computer. If I install the drive as a slave on my new WinXP computer, what will happen? Do i need to do anything special (besides move the jumper on the drive), like edit the BIOS settings? When I start the computer up, will it ask me which OS I want to start? Thanks a lot beforehand, I just wanted to ask in case something bad could happen.

If you set the jumpers to slave it will just boot XP automaticly. The you should be able to just read the drive. If XP can't read the Fat file system, boot the drive in 98.
