BTW, picture quality on the iPod photo is WONDERFUL!! Creative will not beat the iPod ever. Even their new player (which is cool) doesn't hodl water to the iPod photo!

The iPod is ok. It only looks good. It's format sucks, so does the battery life. The iPod photo is such a ripoff. You can't even take a picture with it! I like iRiver, Creative or Sony. Becides, the iPod is pretty expensive...especially the iPod Mini.

EDIT>>> But the iPod Shuffle looks pretty nice.

5 gb rio carbon and its pretty sweet. i wanted an ipod, but for $50 less and 1 gig more than a mini, its quite nice.

i like my ipod, i think that they are really good and have had no problems with it and the battery lasts longer than the one that i had on my mp3 player that i had before i bought the ipod, also i like the way they can hold soo much music, 40gb is a bit extreme unless it is the photo version, but the 20gb one is brilliant, speaking from my personal experience

haha. yeah, my rio has a reakin 20 hours battery with a single charge. you can go to rio's homepage to see that im telling the truth. waht does the mini come out to? yeah, hahah, 8 hours. what a laugh.

Here's what I think about iPods:

Pros:
-Sleek, stylish look.
-Small, thin and compact.

Cons:
-Battery life is improved, but still sucks compared to Creative or iRiver.
-The AAC format sucks, and is pretty big for a digital format (MP3 and WMA are better).
-Pretty expensive...especially the iPod Mini.

Ipods are wayyyyyyy to expensive for what you get, I mean the freakin ipod mini $249 for 4 gb of storage??...thats not even 1/4 of my music collection. I'd rather have one of these

i prefer going with creative or sony or one of these brands because they are soo much better...just look at our opinions more than half the people talking in here hate them or dislike them...that means about half the people of the world hate them or dislike them...although this is a very small sample

im using a 256mb panasonic (blue screen) for now...i dont really use them all that much so no big deal for me to have an expensive one

The only mp3 player I've ever owned is an 4th gen Ipod 40gb, so I can't compare it to others but I'll have to say it's pretty damn good mp3 player

Excuse me for just one minute... First off, battery life is based on the compression format played back. The iPods battery life is up to 12hrs at 192KBPS playback. Sony's is 30hrs at 92KBPS.... That is 100KBPS less then the quality of the iPod compression on MP3s. So if the iPods format sucks, then MP3 sucks? Hmm, it is the most popular, most versitile compression format, so I guess iPods format doesn't suck now does it? My iPod is GOD. It get 12+ hrs battery life, and is sleek, small, tough, and customiable with printable fronts for it from HP. You all need labotamies.

AAC is pretty neet though not used much but takes adavantage of multichannel audio and such.

but anyways when I did rip off cds with realplayer (the only one that uses my cd text info and gets any info right on any cds anymore windows media is soooooooooo offf with its cddb info!) at 112K in AAC it sounds great and comparable to 192k with mp3.

I just wanted to try aac for once. it sounded allright.
