I am curious as to how you convert iTunes M4P files into MP3. My friend gave me a bunch of songs, but they are all in M4P format. Most of the programs I have found only let you convert CDs to Mp3, or only let you convert the first minute of each song. Any suggestions?

Are they protected? If they are you can burn them to a cd (you have to do it in itunes) and then re-import them as MP3's

That's the way I did it. It's a PITA, but it works.

This looks promising: Protected Music Converter 1.0.0.15 (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Audio/Audio-CD-Rippers-Encoders/Protected-Music-Converter.shtml). It has a free 14 day trial.

As far as I know, they are not protected. Also, I do not have any CDs to burn onto. Would Burning them onto a virtual drive work, like Daemon Tools?
