I live near Chitown... Plenty of riced out Hondas... Think it's a coincidence that Illinois has the 3rd largest Mexican population of any state?....
I posted a status thing on facebook the other day after I went to Fast and Furious saying the movie was really good. And it had a lot less rice. Some kid commented saying, "You just jealous, we can go fast and still get good mileage."
I responded with this picture:
http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd282/superman22x/TORQUE-1.jpg
Now, he said, "Nah, I don't need to look at anything." But I think he saw it, and that was that.... lol.
Now, don't get me wrong, there are cars that can go fast and get decent mileage. alvino's beamer for example. I mean, it's not great on gas, but it has some get up and go. Plenty of cars like that. Evos. A twin turbo Supra or STI is not my idea of rice. If it's a 10 second car, it's not a ricer...
A ricer, is a car with dual farters, 7 foot wings, pink flames, and a bone stock engine. A civic with a small wing, flashy paint, larger exhaust, and a twin turbo @ like 15 pounds of boost, is slightly ricey, but still, a good car...
But as they say, polish a turd, and it's still a turd.

You're --> contraction for: You Are. So therefore, thread title says: "You are car" and not equal to Your car. Thus, suggesting that I am a car, or, you are a car. What does it equate to? --> You are a mercedes benz 190C? || (means or) bad english?

That GAU-8/A Avenger Gatling Gun is great for bad days. :D Each round is 30mm, and just six shots is enough to destroy modern Russian armor. Each round is 11.4" and weighs 1.53+ pounds. The API (Armor-Piercing Inceindary) projectile incorporates a depleted-uranium penetrator. The Avenger's maximum rate of fire is 4,200 rounds per minute.
Here's a little comparison of how big that whole gun is. See it? It about the same size as that Volkswagen Beetle.

The latest Skyline is known as the Infiniti G35 in the US, since Nissan and Infiniti are the part of the same company. It's just like Honda and Acura or Toyota and Lexus. They target different markets and consumers. So no, the Skyline didn't die out. This time it's going to be under Nissan, which is a good thing. :)

RX-8, legendary rotary power. I think it uses that motor. I can't believe you actually own that car. Man, it's nice but the insurance on that thing must cost a bundle.
I wish I can afford a $30,000-$40,000 vehicle right now. I would get this:

Its not as bad as most think. My car has so many damn safety features its crazy. It has 8 Airbags through-out the car, then it has Stability Control and Traction Control. My insurance is actually less for this car then it was for my 2002 Millennia. I must say, the RX8 is probably the best car I've even owned. My wife has an 05 Acura TL with Navigation. Very Nice Cars Regarding the RX-8 does that thing use rotatory? some say the RX-7 beats the RX-8
I guess you can say its does in a straight line. Just a reminder that the RX7 had a Turbo. The RX8 doesn't have any of that, it pure Rotary Powered and is at the "most" a 1/2 of a sec slower than the RX7. But believe me when I say this, the RX8 offers a lot more than the RX7 did. As far a seating, comfort, quality of interior, trunk space and etc. That why I picked it over all of the other sports cars such as the 350Z, S2000, G35 Coupe, STi, Evo and so on. Many of them may have been a little faster in the straight line but none made up for other aspects of the car for the price.
And if you ask any professional driver which car he/she would use for an Track day, they would pick the RX8 without any doubt. I have plenty of video's of other owners in a stock RX8 keeping up with a Mustang GT, GTO, Camero SS, Audi RS4,Corvette C6 and more on the Track.

I always hear a lot of people bad mouthing the fact that it has a rotary engine but considering what that engine puts out, the size of it, and the weight, hell i am impressed. I mean it's not the fastest car in its class but they are definitely admirable.

Rotary Engines have always had problems. From Flooding to Blown Seals(Due to the Last Generation RX7's Twin Turbo's). Mazda has fixed most of those Engine problems by moving the ports to the side of the engine. The new redesigned engine is called the Renesis Rotary. I'm yet to have 1 problem with the car(knock on wood). :D
No, the RX8 isn't the fastest in its class in a straight line. You add corners and braking into the equation in the story changes big time. I can find plenty of videos that would impress the hell out of most people. Do you really think an RX8 can keep up with an Porsche Carrera? Yes it can and I can prove it! The car brakes and corners almost the same as many supercars.

The RX-8 is awesome. :D I wish I owned one...is yours manual or automatic?
Yeah, the RX-8 can handle corners REALLY well, thanks to the Renesis Rotary being positioned towards the middle of the car, which gives it a good center of gravity. I also like the "freestyle" doors...it's so cool. :D

Mines a 6 Speed Manual. The Auto gearbox was horrible. Plus the Manual has more HP and a higher RPM Redline due to more ports on the engine. And how many cars can rev up to 9500 RPMS before you have to switch gears? NOT MANY. LOL

eesh....not a fan of the mirror lights, please tell me it's not a rice burner...
Those chrome lights compliment the white on the car. I hate the stock red lights. Clashes with it. Technically, it is a rice burner simply because it's been fixed up from stock. Not much done to the outside (besides the racing grill and the chrome lights), but performance has been beefed up and fully loaded with TRD Performance parts from engine, suspension, to exhaust. It went from 130HP stock to 176HP overnight.
Compact imports have been given a bad name because of people that put fart cans on their cars and those stupid 2 feet high aluminum wings on the back of a stock vehicle. My car has a pretty clean look. Since I had the car, I've been given a lot of stares and caught people looking in on my car when coming out of the store quite a few times. The people at the Toyota dealer call it a sleeper because I'm the only Corolla that's FI. The best part of all, I still have full warranty with them.

Unfortunately, it's an auto. I drive way too much and hate the idea of shifting all the time. My arms and leg would get tired. I think I'm going to leave the wheels the way they are. Those aluminum alloy wheels are ok. If I want to change the wheels, I'm thinking of getting 17's for them. Right now, the fender gap is perfect. Not too big and it's not a huge drop. I've got TRD suspensions all around so it gives it a perfect drop. Not enough to make it look like a low rider or something like that, but at the same time it doesn't sit too high like some of the stock Corolla's are. The stock ones look bad, seriously. It needs the drop. I thought about putting on the Corolla XRS 16's or do they have 17's? Then it would be a wannabe XRS Corolla instead of a Corolla S.

TRD are available for most Toyota pickups and SUV's (Tacoma, Tundra, 4 Runner, and something else). They are also available in Scion tC, Corolla S, Corolla XRS, Camry, Solara, and what else am I forgetting? Toyota rocks. So much performance options you can get. The Corolla S has the most available for it. More than the Corolla XRS, which is why I got it. Best bang for the buck. There are no superchargers available for the XRS because of it's higher compression motor. That doesn't prevent anyone from putting a turbo on there, hehe.
I originally wanted a Civic, but they cost way too much for such a limited amount of features. I got this Corolla S with all the sport package, leather wrapped shift knobs and steering, power accessories, CD player, matching Corolla S floor mats, cargo net, and extended warranty for about the same price for a Civic LX with only 3 year standard warranty, no CD player, and stock stainless steel wheels (ugly). It's a no brainer decision. Plus, Toyota has legendary reliablity.

It was in 03 when I bought that car. I was comparing the Nissan Sentra SE R, Honda Civic, and the Toyota Corolla at the time. Nissan had a great motor and very powerful. Potent. I liked it a lot, but research on the Toyota Corolla was astonishing. Their line of TRD components and especially the supercharger impressed me enough to get the Corolla. Those cost I spend on TRD parts and the MSRP sticker price of the car at the time was just under $20,000 excluding my financing fees of course. That add to the cost.
The new Civic has more horsepower than what my Corolla can put out, but I have way more torque which gives me a better launch. The problem with my car at launch is wheel spin. They do make a TRD LSD for my trans-axles, but they cost like $900 for a set.
Still, I would gladly take the Civic Si. Best NA vehicle I've seen by any manufacturer that cost around $20,000.
Civic Si Specs at a glance
Engine liters: 2.0
Cylinder configuration: I-4
Horsepower: 197-hp @ 7,800 rpm
Torque: 139 lbs.-ft. @ 6,200 rpm
# of valves: 16
Variable valve control: i-VTEC
Recommended fuel: premium unleaded
Aluminum cylinder block
Aluminum cylinder head
Ignition type: electronic
Engine orientation: transverse
Fuel economy city: 23 mpg
Fuel economy highway: 32 mpg
Fuel tank capacity: 13 gal.

ISOwner
March 29th, 2006, 05:49 AM
The Sentra has a nice front end which I like, but the back doesn't look good. My first impression of the Corolla at first, was that it looked similar to the Lexus SUV due to the rear design. Very similar resemblance, but not suprising because Lexus and Toyota are the same company.
If the TRD package wasn't available for the Corolla, there was a good chance that I may have purchased the Sentra SE R instead.

I guess it's mainly because 80% of the people that own them put fart cans on them and they sound like complete shit! on top of that my family has always supported american cars so that also kinda leans me more towards american brands. I do like some japaneese brands though, not honda for the most part but nissan inparticular. Someone mentioned that american cars were unreliable, well i can't agree with you, yes every company has it's lemons but the cars we've had have been great. I think it's parshly because alot of drivers are stupid and get into wrecks and then their cars are unreliable after that. but really idk because the toyota corolla i think it was, maybe camary, was the #1 car in the U.S so that might contradict the whole thing. But i have seen alot of stupid ass civic drivers and also i think the civics r slow anyways. my brothers camaro with a 2-somethin rear end can kick his friends SI's ass lol.

Nissan always had nice motors. They will always have my consideration. I just want to go for something that is either supercharged or has a turbo in it. That new VW commercial what that funny German guy and the blonde girl cracks me up. That GTi is said to have 200HP turbocharged. What I don't understand is, the new 06 Civic Si is near 200HP and cost twice as less as the VW. Maybe the VW can push faster times then the Civic, I don't know. Haven't really seen the full specs of the new GTi.
I like to see TOyota come out with something better in the next few years as far as a fast compact sedan goes. The XRS is ok, but it could be better. They really shouldn't use the Corolla because of it's reputation as a fuel economy sedan. Despite it being reliable and all, they need to redesign a new sport model vehicle. They got rid of the Celica, but now they got the Scion tC. Slow machine though.

as soon as i can get the dent outa it (and get more money) im getting some rims for it, and probably something on the body. dunno what im gonna do with it yet, but im gonna do something. i love it, its only a 1.4 HDi, but its pretty nippy if you get it in the right gear... economy is definatley the piority, at 97.9p a litre of diesel...

you're going to pay a lot to get that dent fixed, and I'll bet you can do it yourself for very little money. if it's not scratched or anything you can pull out the dent easily with a suction cup or take the inner fenderwell out (just a few bolts) and push it out from behind. can you post a pic of it?

Here's my car, or will be mine. It's a 1971 Chevelle SS. It's got a 454 V8 and TONS of power. I love this car, although im not even legal to drive it (For some reason the insurance says I have to be 25 or older to drive or we will have to pay something like 5 times the amount of insurance we pay now if we wanted to change that age limit). That aspect of it sucks...
But anyways here's a old pic of her. This is before we even bought it from the guy (this is a pictures he sent when my dad was thinking on purchasing it). There's since been a lot of work done to it. I told my dad to take some recent pictures of it and send them to me but right now the interior is stripped down because everything is getting reupholstered. I'll wait until that's done and a few other upgrades to take more pictures.

Thats true too. But something 20'' would be too damn loud! Lol, i bet one 20'' that would handle 2000RMS watts would be pushing 160 decibles. (sp)
800 Watts? I doubt it. It'll muffle all the satellites around the car.
His satellites are rated for 250RMS watts each. And he has 6 of them in the car. Putting in about 50RMS max watts. Trust me, the words are muffled, but, you can still hear it. But right now the top is on it. He is only putting about 600 into the bass. When it starts to get hotter, he will turn up the bass, and then, the bass will be alot louner, but, you will hear the satelites, because their still in the enclosed cab. Well other then the back two.

The point was that when subs start getting bigger than 12" you lose a lot of the "tightness" of the bass. It's hard to explain the exact sound you get from it but rest assured it does not sound very good. A person would be better off with buying more subs that buying a larger one, especially when it comes to car audio.

I agree with you i rathe spend more money on performance or looks, cause you will never hear at that volume, 1. cause it will hurt, 2. you'll get a ticket, plus in the long term having a thumping sound sistem it damages your car, makes parts get shaky, loosen some bolts.

I agree, i would also rather spend cash on engine upgrades and such to make the car go faster. But then again it still depends on the vehicle cause some just arent worth trying to make go faster. And as far as spending a lot to make vehicle just look nice is also kind of pointless if it runs like crap.

It's better to get a fast car to start. I'm tired of fixing up regular cars. Sometime, the motor takes a beating if it's not properly reinforced when running a turbo kit or supercharger. That's a whole lot of money you have to pump into your car. I rather just get an Evo or an STI, but they cost too much.
That is why it's better to get a car that is already fast to start with. The 06 Honda Civic Si is a nice start which doesn't cost an arm and a leg. It's got a high reving motor which may not fair well with a turbo kit, unless again, reinforcement is done to prevent blowing a gasket :(
Still, for $20,000, the Civic Si has 200HP of raw power, naturally without FI. The RSX Type S is another good one, but too damn small and cost way too much for it's model.

I agree, i would also rather spend cash on engine upgrades and such to make the car go faster. But then again it still depends on the vehicle cause some just arent worth trying to make go faster. And as far as spending a lot to make vehicle just look nice is also kind of pointless if it runs like crap.
Dude, if you get caught going to fast, your car get impounded, you loose your license, or, your insurance goes up really high. So why not have a standard car, that has a very, very nice sound system, that you can listen to with out limits.

I can say that there is always a need for speed. Trust me, once you start driving, you'll see what I mean. We could always use the power when we need it. Passing power when traveling on the freeways, going up steep roads, and just plain showing off. I got a speeding ticket just a few months ago, but I don't regret it. More and more motorist drive faster and faster. My car's been impounded before, but I got it out.
I won't be surprised if the government formed a conspiracy by increasing freeway speed limit to 80mph. Why? So our cars use more gas, forcing us to by more gasoline. With the high price of gas as of this moment, it is an appealing thought to them. Plus, if you do race someone at the California Speedway, I like to have the fastest car there or one of the faster ones. We have races all the time at the raceway where we pay $15 to get in and participate in drag racing, drifting, getting time slips, etc. It's a guy thing.

I want that new 06 BMW 330xi, but it's freaking $45,000!!! I need a high paying full time job to get that. I drool over the specs, but I am dissapointed in the HP production though. 255HP isn't that much for a car like that. The Lexus IS350 is the same size and class as that BMW, but has 305HP!!!! The cost is a little cheaper too, but pretty close to the same cost depending on the features.
