I had a torn miniscus (the cartilidge in your knee) and they attempted to repair it. Within 6 months of that surgery (which was a year or so ago) it tore again......so I am due to have another surgery, but this time, they will simply remove it since the repair ultimately failed... :(

Yup. My dad had it removed from his left knee when he was 19 due to a football injury and my wife has had hers out of her right knee (about 6 or 7 years ago).....SOMETIMES they will put in a fake "disc" to replace it, but often, they don't. It just increases your chances of arthritis due to bone on bone contact and the surfaces will wear down quicker than if a miniscus was their.....but yeah, you can still walk without it.....

My computer is still being upgraded so it should have all silver drives more led fans etc. Also BSOD169 you have inspired me to water cool my 6800 and everything when i get it . I will start a thread when i am doing i hope you will help me.

You won't really need it unless you do alot of overclocking, or you just want your pc absolutely quiet.

I've just added 3 Fans, 3 led bullets and i ripped out the 2 free 5.25" ports and put a fan in there with mesh over it.

thanks, when I first started building I used cold cathode light kits, but they had to be replaced every 4 months! (kept burning out) So I ditched the cathodes and got ultra bright led fans.It's quite a spectacular effect if you ask me...

plus, they last way longer!

I don't really worry about dust (we got that Ionic Breeze Quadra thingy)
But if you are worried about dust, you could always get a nylon based fan guard.

My case has a type of built-in aluminum fan-gaurd to keep larger objects out like fingers, pencils, or whatever some people will stick inside their case! LOL

Well if you got nice mesh and a nice clean room and clean air you shouldnt get to much bother. I take mine apart every few months an clean out all the muck that gets sucked into my heatsink etc.

go to your local hardware store and buy a can of compressed air, go outside on a dry day, and blast the case with the air and let the wind take the dust away.

Correct, ATX form factor will only fit ATX motherboards, Micro ATX will only fit Micro ATX motherboards. Check your motherboard website to find out what type yours is.

I'm building a server thats gonna have a window and will be in my room. Because it's in my room, i will need water cooling instead of fans. Can someone explain to me or give me links to tutorials; how does it all work: what parts do i need, which parts have to be cooled, how does it all work ect. and roughly the price of a set. Thanks is advance!

well rakedog. I hope you have lots of dough. NO not that kind of dough. you will need a lot. probably the soft quishy kind, you can proably find a recipy on the internet. wait nvm. ok yea you will need lots of money. Why do I say this? Well water cooling can land you about 200-500 dollars out of your pocket. But maybe thats not very expensive to some people. But you will need the expensive money for your computer. I would not Watercool my p3 1ghz 384mb, with 32mb vid card. So you will need to spend money on a expencive server in your case or its probably not worth it.

But hey what do I know. I havent looked into any of this. its just common sence I kinda have. but I know the watercooling is about 200-500. maybe you could get a crap thing for 100 but its then not worth it and might not work right.

Well, I'm ordering the following parts:

250 gig HD
1 gig RAM DDR
2.0 - 2.5 ghz 512K-1MB Cache CPU (Intel or AMD, not decided)


But it doesn't matter if those are bad, the thing is, it's in my room, so i need it to be quiet. I'm aware it will cost quite a bit, but I have some money. So can anyone explain to me how the whole thing works? Refer to my first question.

accualy, someone told me that there are things called noice silencers...something that makes those fans quiet...... it would be a very good solution to water cooling, because i just need the darn thing to be quiet...any info on this?

You can get some sound board. You have to make sure you get a hard drive that isnt very loud. Right now my hard drive is the loudest thing in my case.

The best way for silence is to buy parts that run silent.

If you already bought your hard drive and its loud then get a noice silencer for it. Its like a case you put it in. Havent tried on out though. Sure it helps a bit.

Right now I have silent everything in my case including soundboard. It takes out the high pitch noises.

Umm depends on what fans you want search new egg for fans and they will give you dba readings. Anything between 15-20 is extemly quite for a fan. And 20-25 is also very quiet.

The quietest cpu coolers run from 20-25.

Honestly you must not know what a silent system sounds like.. Most average fans are completely silent.

honistly guys, who cares if your computer is silent or not. my computer could be so loud it doesnt matter. just turn up the sound. listen to some hardcore ACDC or what ever it is you want to listen to. if your playing a game turn the sound up so you dont have to hear your beastly machine cranking away.

hehehehh. well cisco routers are very complicated and are a pain most of the time and you basically have to tell it everything and type out horrendos amounts of info to it and it get tediuos at times. id rather have an easy gui config so its quicker to fix things.

also that model dont have much ram by default nether does the 2600 the one I used at my cisco academy till they took it away fromt eh class. that why I quit.

they wouldnt let us use it!! i hate that schoolboard

No, actually it isn't that loud for what it does. It runs pretty quiet, but the pump for the LC is kinda loud sometimes, and my pumps get loud if I don't maintainence them often enough.

Umm I think the X-Navigator does have 5x 5.25 drive bays. And you need to see how tall the X-Navigator is to really classify the standard. It is a full tower. No offense, but I think the Raidmax is more like a mid-tower. But then again, thats what I think and I dont want to start an arguement, so yeah...

EDIT>>> Nevermind. Your case is full tower. It's the same height as the X-Navigator and the X-Superalien (My blue baby :D).

No. Just telling people that the X-Navigator is not my kind of case. I have left one space open for a 5.25 mounted cooling solution and could not settle with four bays. It is that simple. The X-Navigator is inadequate for my uses.

I admit I only have 2 more open fan slots. But that would be very noisy. I also have a 3 80MM expansion card cooler (3+6 80MM = 9). I still find the X-Navigator unappealing. Don't see what all the talk about it is... well I guess it has to do with more personal taste.

It does indeed. I like the rail mounts that are included, and the PSU is really quite and a POWERHOUSE! It comes with UV Sheathing around the wires, and thus, glows nicely. It looks cool, and the front fan adjuster works like a charm.

Yeah I get rail mounts too (ones that click in). The 420 watt power supply I took out and put in 480 watts. I just don't like the X-Navigator.. and IMHO, there are better cases out there.

Yeah, I agree, but for the money, it is definentally one of the better cases out there. I REALLY Like the ThermalTake Dream Tsunami Case. It is nice looking, just the PSU isnt quite large enough, but very classy case. Well built!

I usually get a case and am almost never satisfied with the supplied PSU. I take it out and give it to a friend who has a lower end machine. The Tsunami is too metalic for my tastes.

It is simple looking, but has that cool controller at the top, and 6 5.25 bays as well. Classic look to it. Also, Thermaltake makes great cases. The best cases (also very expensive) are Lian Li however. They ar ebland, but really really well made.
