What is your highest overclock on your processor? I have got my 3700+ running at 2.5ghz but I still have stock cooling so its running at 2.4ghz, which is equal to a 4000+, right now
EDIT: Should this have gone in general hardware?

My 3000+ Is Back At 2.Ghz Due To Computer Tests (Tuning My Ram And Updating Stuff)
Should Be Back To Its Self Soon (2.2Ghz)

I dont feel like staring a new thread for this question but what is some good memory that can handle overclocking well. I want 2 gigs so I was wondering what one of these would handle overclocking better
G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Dual Channel Kit

My Athlon 64 3400+ is 2.2ghz stock, but the Clawhammer core sucks at overclocking and I can only get it to 2.4ghz before it goes wacko on me. However, the payoff is the 1mb L2 Cache compared to the Newcastle core's 512k L2 Cache.

With my liquid cooling, I got to 2.65ghz, but I had to put it back down to stock when I realized that I want my comp for a while... lol... I got my old pent. 3.2 (If anybody remember's my old comp) to go to 3.57 (almost a 3.6) with stock. I fried the cpu when I went to 3.67ghz btw.... lol.... yeah....

okay...i have gotten my XP Barton to 2.44 but it was unstable, its at 2.3 right now. And for those of you that have venices...GET YOUR CPU UP TO 2.7GHZ STABLE it is possible on air, go out and buy a SI-120 and a Triblade delta and you are well on your way to 2.7ghz.

Ownage, how high have you got that x2 overclocked? And I was wondering how do you have a socket M2 processor?

Very interesting. So you're going for a new build next year too? Jac006 and I are doing the same thing too.

M2, schmem two...before you know it, AMD will release ANOTHER socket called G4 or what not...it's annoying how they keep changing sockets. They can never seem to stick with one socket for a while (I remember Socket 754...only lasted two goddamn years).

haha, and you got stuck with it :P Im gonna wait for M2 and see what kind of clocks people get.

Exactly! Well, it was also a matter of budget...the Socket 939/940 and nForce 3 Chipsets were El Expensivo. But, yeah, I got so mad because a year after, they change sockets and Socket 939 gets cheaper. Stuuupid AMD. Haha, that's the only thing I hate about them.

I think we should all just scrap our PC every year for a new one. Mine is going to OWN next year. Make way for the super computer of ComputerForums.

yeah, i dont like it how they keep on switching.

In a way it's good because there's always improvement in new technology. They'll make a dedicated socket just for Athlon X2's. That will be neat to have.

i dont think they will make a socket just for X2's, the M2 socket will be for single and dual cores a like. But i like how Intel is just sticking to socket 775, and not switching around.

It will probably take a long time when multi cores take over and traditional CPUs become extinct. By that time, hopefully a dedicated socket will be used only for multi cores. RIght now, we're sharing the Socket 939 between single and multi core CPUs. I wonder if there are performance bottlenecks in that?

It's bad how they change sockets so often. Then you're stuck with either old technology or you're forced to upgrade your motherboard AND processor. Now that just sucks.
