Haha, tis my friend is the ISA Slotted Sound Blaster 16! ISA, which is an acronym for Industry Standard Architecture, is OLD, like Ancient OLD.

Yup. In my OLD Pentium MMX machine, the sound card and modem were ISA slotted cards too.

Before agp, before pci, before eisa (extended industry standard architechture), before mca (micro channe, architechture, the was ISA (Industry Standard Architechture).
It was first used in the 1980's as an 8-bit system to connect other cards to the motherboard. Later in the mid 1980's it became a 16 bit system. It was primarily used on IBM machines, although some other companies did use it. Installing ISA devices was a burden, and it wasn't even plug and play at all untill the last throws of its life. Installing new hardware was a real bugger. The rest of the computer industry answered to ISA with MCA, which was answered with eISA, which was later replaced by pci.
*Pft* Noob isa card :P

Ah yes, ISA, what a wonderful industry forward moving interface. Just remember, even PCIe uses a Binar controller, which is the EXACT same from ISA.. LMAO! We haven't advanced as much as you think! GO ISA!

Yeah, but ISA was so bulky...it was not bad though.

I have a few ISA sound cards lying around.. one of them happens to also be 10" long... crazy stuff. Reminds me, my brother's old PC had an ISA ethernet card... that was just WOW to me..
