Do you need a complier or not with java. i saw some java books at barns&noble but can i just download a free complier. Would Buying a book with a CD be easier to learn a language from too? :p

It depends on your learning style. It also depends what the CD has on it too. ;) You don't need a complier....at least, I've never used one.

sorry but you do need a compiler for java... you can get it www.java.sun.com

hello, Boss..u need to get a JRE atleast .download from sun site...it is available for free..also download the J2SE 1.4..for advanced programming..

Yes, I was in fact thinking of javascript and not java :)
